I got the short sleeve version from this off an Israeli Military Surplus store and it works well, except for the short sleeves. After a 29 mile bike ride on a sunny day around noon (was going to the MVA out of town to renew my driver's license), I found myself with painful sunburn ... right up to where the short sleeves start.
Okay, so I'm going with the long sleeve version now. The long sleeves go right up to my cycling gloves, protecting my arms from severe sunburn. The fabric wicks away moisture and allows ample airflow, giving maximum sweat evaporation and thus maximum cooling. Combined with a short sleeve Pearl Izumi semi-formfit jersey in Screaming Yellow (one of the non-insulating, high airflow, moisture transfer ones), I'm visible, cool, and protected from the sun.
